Strawberry Protection

So I just realized that I never shared my strawberry cage that I made. Hmmm. Cage. Makes it sound like I'm trying to protect us from the strawberries rather than protecting them from from ravenous rabbits and squirrels.

Anyway, I ended up building a tee-pee type structure as this was the easiest to construct with the materials I had on hand. It worked spectacularly! We got many, many tiny Alpine strawberries this summer. They're so sweet! They remind you of sweet tarts without the tart. I highly recommend this hearty little strawberry.

So, without further ado... The Picture!
This is the only view I could get of the structure at this late date of summer because my tomato plants have taken over the garden.
Behind that mess is my strawberry plant - completely protected from the harsh summer sun.

In all fairness to the tomatoes, there are also parsnips and peppers showing in that picture. But still, those tomatoes are massive. How is it that the cherry tomato plant is so much larger than the regular size tomatoes?
